Poland: Hurricane Xaver Kills Five

Water and fire will give the earth's globe convulsions and terrible earthquakes which will swallow up mountains, cities, etc.. Our Lady of La Salette 19 Sept. 1846 (Published by Mélanie 1879)
And then water and fire will purge the earth and consume all the works of men's pride and all will be renewed. God will be served and glorified. Our Lady of La Salette 19 Sept. 1846 (Published by Mélanie 1879)

Baku-APA. Hurricane Xaver attacked the north coast of Poland with winds of around 100 km per hour and gusts of 130 km per hour, causing five deaths, APA reports quoting Xinhua. After devastating much of western Europe, the icy gales hit Poland in the early hours of Friday morning. The victims include four on the roads when a car and a bus were crushed by falling trees. The winds wreaked havoc as the hurricane moved south, leaving 400,000 homes, mostly in the northwest of the country, without electricity and some roofs being torn off. The fire brigade was called out around 3,000 times. The hurricane caused many flights being cancelled and public transport running seriously late. By Saturday the worst should be over and Poland should have a reasonably peaceful weekend as far as the weather is concerned, but thousands will be counting the cost and working hard to get their lives back to normal.
